Good New - Bad News

Y’all never fail to amaze me, with your kindness and flattery towards little o’me. I am the lucky recipient of not just one but Four awards. First from Linda of Left Brain Write and Jai of Jai Joshi’s Tulsi Tree – Honest Scrap, in my opinion this award represents a way to take the scrapes of this and that’s and make them into a whole experience (sounds good to me anyway). Now from Deanna of Deanna’s Blog and Elizabeth of Elizabeth’s Blog-Ramblings– Sugar Doll, which I’m sure is a reference to my accent. They both come with a hitch (ain’t nutin free ya know) I have to tell you 10 random things about moi. In advance I apologize if you already know and if not then my mission was well accomplished. Oh, yes my dear internets my head is getting way too big for my hats.

1. I don’t like the manufacture/contents/size/washing instruction tags in clothes…I always cut them out because they irritate me

2. I think I am afraid of success, and when it happens to me I can find a good reason for such dumb luck and why it won’t happen again

3. I like licking my fingers after eating Cheetos, otherwise it gets yellow orange stuff on my keyboard

4. I spilled a bowl of gravy on myself when I was 8, on accounta I insisted I was a big girl and could do it

5. I believe in God, a genderless supreme being and that we are all a part of that beautiful energy

6. My favorite number is 3, odd I know

7. Often times my art is better looking in my head and that leaves me feeling inadequate

8. I was a cub scout leader for 6 years

9. I bake good cakes and cookies but can not make a pie crust that is eatable

10. I feel so blessed to have all of you as my dear internets

And the award goes to :

Dapoppins - that is one honest scrap of life in her 2-7 post
The Exhausted Mom Chronicles - sometimes she just finds the scrapest stuff
Our Lost Jungle - the way she is able to find scraps and turn them into lessons

And the Award goes to:

Shine the Divine Creativity - her sweet caring ways for others is inspiring
Exit Stage Right - regardless of how tired she gets Snaggle always finds a way to visit, and she seems to always be covered in powdered sugar

Down River Drivel - through all the ups and downs she is always a doll

And the bad news, which is maybe really old news cause it is past news and the crying is over...I lost my job...but worse than that I lost the health insurance that we so need now that my Beloved is facing chemo end of next month. Where do I pick up some of that Obma care again?

Paige,

I was having so much fun reading your list and then I came to the bad news. I'm so sorry for your job loss. I can't imagine how awful that feels. Especially losing the health benefits. I'm speechless. Please know you will be in my prayers.

Isn't there a thing whereby a company has to keep you covered even for a while after you lose your job?

Aww, Paige, this is so kind. Thank you. I am terribly sorry to hear about your job loss and that your beloved is in need of chemo and that your health coverage has been dropped...just too much. I don't understand how it is even possible that we are not all covered automatically, just by virtue of being human beings living in this nation! I will pray for you and your beloved...and for our Congress to finally wake up and do what's right. I sign petitions, call my congress people all the time...just one tiny voice...but that seems to be all any of us can do (besides move to another country)...just keep letting them know that we are sick of being sick and left without coverage for everyone fare and square.

gentle steps dear one,
Laura

Oh shit... Lost job. Lost health ins. Damn.

And I was going to say how cute your suggestion was... "one of my dear internets suggested to leave the letters... IRYT
that stands for I read you today, for those bloggers who feel the need to leave a comment, but don't really feel they have something to contribute to the post, yet to let them know they have been read."

And of course, this lost job business really puts all this diddly-poo blogging stuff in perspective. :-(

Gentle hugs...

3 is my favorite number too. Thank you for the award. Sometimes I feel like my posts are scraps but that is usually how my brain works too.

Thankyou so much for the Sugar Dollbaward! I work at a bakery where I sometimes get covered in the stuff, too! for real- how ironic! I make really good pie-crust, my mommy taught me how. Sorry about your gravy disaster...

Sorry to hear the x-job/heath Ins. news- Perhaps being out of work will qualify you for some free care? Call the hospital office n ask- it can't hurt!

Here when you have no income you qualify for free ER/outpatient services, but usually get a bill for any drugs/tests- really!

Maybe you could get fund-raisers going to help a bit (ask town hall about rules for- raffles, bake sales, ect) Just an idea to chew on-
You know I pray for you every day anyhow!

Do you remember the old tv series in the 50s -probably well before your time though -starring William Bendix in "Life of Riley?" The big phrase from that program was "What a revolting development this is!" And boy, that sure does apply, in spades, to you with the job loss and for you and your husband with the loss of the insurance too. I think there's supposed to be some sort of thing that with the loss of insurance with the loss of a job that you can get a continuation of the insurance for several months -the COBRA plan stuff -however, I also know that the COBRA plan is quite expensive too. Damned insurance companies -and employers as well -put the screws to us every way they can it seems.
Having been in the unemployed status for more than a few times in my life -including being unemployed, with no insurance at all when I was diagnosed with cancer -I can fully empathize with what you're going through right now. Talk to the doctor, explain the situation and ask him(her) for any suggestions. Sometimes, they know of little avenues that can be utilized. (My surgeon is the one who told me to go to the welfare office and apply for a medical card that same day as he gave me my diagnosis.)
And thank you for the award too -although my kids would tell you that giving me a Sugar Doll award must mean that I've given you a snow job of some kind that makes you think that kindly of me -or they'd say "She really doesn't know the same person we know, does she?" Yeah, they like to tell folks whenever they can about my obnoxious side and I tell them I don't get mad, I get even -usually without even having to try with them. LOL
I'll try to live up to the image though, just for you!

Hey Paige! Just wanted to drop by and thank you for your coments at my blog. They are always appreciated. I admit I was glad to hear that someone else's automatic pilot was broken, too! Blessings, (and congrats for your awards)...Debra

Paige, I am so sorry to hear about your job loss. Our company closed three offices last week, (we had 6 in the US) and laid off 34 people. One of them was in my group and his wife has been in the hospital a lot lately - she has cystic fibrosis, and she's already 30 years old so most likely doesn't have long. I cried all day for them. I find it interesting, not to mention horrific, that the people who lose their jobs more often than not are the ones who need the health care most. Coincidence? I think not. I will be praying that all turns out for the best. With enough faith it will.
Your list sounds so much like my sister I can't help but wonder if you're impersonating her, or she's you and you're really my sister....or something like that. I'm tired...
Much hugs!

Where did my post go? I'm sure I commented here but it's disappeared.

First of all, I'm very sorry to hear that you lost your job. I hope you find another one soon and will be sending you my best wishes and thoughts regarding that and especially regarding your husband's treatment.

Second of all, congratulations on your four awards! You surely deserve it.

I've heard that good cake makers are not good pie or pastry makers. I think it's true because while I'm obssessed with cake I'm not interested in pie at all.
