Is this thing on?

Okay my dear internets I just want to remind you that this is November and once again I’m taking part in the Chapbook Challenge Poem a Day hosted by Robert Lee Brewer over at Poetic Asides, (twitter — #novpad)

Here is a little ditty from day 2

Linger

She was ready
                     .had been
since age forty-three
                     .but now
some fifty years latter
                     .she is
not quite ready
                     .after all

Now my dear internets I once again dare to you to take a chance and write a poem. Come on you and your crazy a$$edness can do it. And don’t forget April is National Poetry Month and yes I will challenge you to write poetry then too. But why wait?

Now tell me who is foregoing Thanksgiving this year to write? Hey hubbies can cook too ya know, just ask mine. {wink}

I enjoyed your poem, Paige. :D I haven't posted any poetry for a little while. I'll have to get on that. Hope you have a nice weekend!

I think that I shall never see
A tree, Paige, as nice as thee.

Good one, eh?? :)

Love that ditty, Paige. It's frighteningly true too.

I haven't written any poetry for a few weeks. I'll see if I can come up with anything but don't hold your breath. My poetry only comes up when it wants to.

Oh, I love to read it, but am afraid to write it.

I like Jannie's. :)

Peace,
Cindy.

Paige, you'll have to remind me next year about the poetry challenge. (I do celebrate April's National Poetry month too.) I signed up for NaNoWriMo so my writing time is focused on fiction for November. But that usually means some other form will wiggle free and wave its arms for attention...if that happens, I'll send it your way? Happy writing!

Loved the little poem Paige. I'm going to visit my mom so won't be able to keep-up with the challenge. But I will make an effort to get a poem a day done on the days I can.

All the best with the challenge.

That little ditty
Was a bit sad,
especially the statue
which was stone clad.

That's it for me paige, lol.
But I enjoyed 'Lingerrrrr'.

Wow Paige, you said so much in so few words. That poem is one of the most honest, if not the most honest, I've ever read. It's so sad, but so beautiful at the same time.

We're having Thanksgiving at my house this year (in fact I'm supposed to be washing windows right now) so I won't have the luxury of skipping it to write but surely I'll have a few minutes that evening, if I'm not dead by then, so maybe I'll try to spit out a poem. I'm not a poet, but I do play with it every few months.

Thank you for sharing that lovely poem!
