Whats wrong with this picture?

We recently bought a new television, for our bedroom, we got one of those flat screens you know like what we have in the studio. Y'all saw it when you were on the Grand Virtual Tour. Remember? Of course you do my dear internets. Anyway the reason we bought it... we really had to buy it... no truly on accounta the remote broke. Hey don't judge us, we are just doing our part and besides this was not the first remote we had for that old television. No my Beloved has gone through at least three remote controls. Well besides the remote being broken the old television had about a half inch, literally, worth of dust on it. Yeah I have bad allergies, for real, so I could not... in no way could I have dusted that old TV. I would still be sneezing...ah … ah … achoo!

It took a few minutes to mount the hardware on the wall, right where that old painting used be. You remember the one, I think, it was in one of those photos that I had taken a while back when I was sick in bed and I was showing you my view. Remember? You know it is the best location for our new TV. It's right there front and center at the foot of our bed just high enough that it can be seen over my belly and just low enough to be below the ceiling fan pull cord.

We got the new TV hung on the wall, cable cord screwed in and the power cord plugged in. The batteries were loaded in the new remote control and we were set. After puffing up our pillows we heaved ourselves up on our tall crazy a$$ bed We made ourselves comfy then my Beloved pushed the "on" button... are you ready for this...

This is what we got!

We were not very happy, no not at all. We fiddled with it for a while, maybe 10 to 15 minutes. Then we decided we would check the other TVs in the house. After all maybe the cable out. And you know what it was.

And that just goes to show you, don't get a bad attitude when your old remote control stops working and you are forced, yes forced I say to buy a new television and then the new one doesn't come on.

By the way we soooooo love the new TV. Y'all should all break your old remotes so you too can rush out and buy something you don't need. Come on my dear Internets... we all need to do our part to kick America’s economy into gear!

lol on the cable being out in the whole house, lol.

Looks like a marvelous tv! I couldn't sleep if there wasn't a tv in my bedroom. I actually fall asleep with the sleep timer on. If I had a toilet and refrig in my room, I'd never leave.

In our house it's against the law to have a TV in the bedroom. I don't watch much TV, but I'm afraid if I had one, (especially like yours), in my bedroom, I'd become lazier than I already am, hence the law. :)

Oops! Did you manage to get the new tv working in the end? I hope so.

My brother's been talking about gettng a plasma screen tv and I've been talking about NOT getting a plasma screen tv. We'll see how that tug of war turns out.

hehe, what a fun story! Glad you're enjoying your new TV. We got a flat screen a little while back, and we enjoy ours, too. :)

A similar thing happened to me when I had to go dig out another VCR (Video Machine) so the cable would work, but it was out too!

Haven't broke down to get a flat-screen yet- got tubes in both rooms! I don't expend on that stuff just for me, until i hit the jackpot, anyway-

Remote controls are controlled remotely by the devil himself. Sometimes, anyway. Well, not much. No not at all!

I want to get all thoughts of the devil out of your head, in case you have nightmares after you power down that nice new flat screen tv and hit the land of nod.

I don't think Satan really exists anyway. Sorry, God.

The cable was out! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeew! What a relief! But then, you had to get up and start the "My Cable Is Out Dance." Trying to call the company and etc. :-(

"Y'all should all break your old remotes so you too can rush out and buy something you don't need."

-giggles- Well, we traded in our car [sporty and not really practical], for a Honda Hybrid, which we intend to drive forever. Does that count? Toward jump-starting the economy? >,-)

Nope, sorry, 'cause we really need a car. So that doesn't fit into the "things we don't need" category. Oh well. Maybe I'll think of something else. LOL....

Paige! You crack me up!
Now since I am a promoter of intimacy, I suggest you turn off that beauty of a TV once in a while, and well,...you know, turn up the heat with that honey of yours!!!!! Whoo Hooooo ;)

Is the t.v. working yet?

I always had my doubts about digital. My grand parents bought new tv's two years ago that were digital and every time there was a storm or any wind, or giant sun spots, or some one in the next room sneezed, they lost reception.

My grandma lives in a care home, and when here remote doesn't work, she just calls "someone," I don't know who that someone is, but about a week or so later everything works again. She says waiting gives her something to do.

the bube tube works fine as long as the cable and power is working. and yes it gets left off plenty {smiles and giggles}

When y'all do get a TV get a LCD NOT plasma. LCD are not hot and have a long life whereas plasma doesn't.

HD is way superior—funny that could stand for Husband dear or heavy duty or heck even hello-dar. Okay {slinks away but still laughing}

All digitals in Britain are going to have to be retuned next Wednesday by the owners.

Our TV is on the verge of going out. The picture is now almost always black and white, and way too dark. It's like every scene is shot in a darkened alley. But for some reason my wife is dead set on now buying a new one until this one is well and truly dead.

To make things worse, we were at Best Buy and walked through the TV section. She pointed to a large flat panel display and said, "I do not want a monster like that in my living room." Then she pointed to a flat panel that was about the size of a 17 inch monitor and said that would be just about perfect.

I sense trouble ahead...

I also like the LCD-HD's better than the plasma ones. I think the plasma's are too dark for me. I like a bright TV. I've spent so much money this year to stimulate the economy and I think it's helping, hahaha. At least it's helping me. I have all this new stuff and took 2 vacations to boot. My kids think I must have won the lottery, but I'm just spending their inheritance.
