Ooh la la

Because it is my Honeymoon weekend our 7th , I am pre-posting this for you. Now that autumn or fall or just that plan ‘ol little bit of cooling off period has arrived in your area I thought I would post my study of the color brown. Brown and all the shades thereof have their roots in nature the earth (ha ha). What does brown make you think of or better yet what does it make you feel? For me I think muddy shoes and dirty hands from planting vegetables and flowers and even chocolate ice cream dripping off a child’s chin onto their little white shirt, our sweet Mother Earth.

And when we get back from our honeymoon I will be having my left hand carpel tunnel released on Monday the 12th. Give me a few days or less depending on my amount of motion and boredom before I visit y'all. My surgeon better known as the hand dude says my Ulna nerve issue in my right hand/arm may require surgery as well, but that will have to wait even though it hurts bad enough to bring tears to my eyes. My gynecologist says the baby barn (as KimmyK calls it) has got to go, so that surgery is scheduled for mid November. I know I'm gonna wear y'all out asking for kind words to our Father; But you love me and I am the queen of this here valley so please keep me in your prayers, that I will wake up from the anesthesia. Thank you much.

I have asked my daughter Erin, yes her real name, to come over and paint our living room. On accounta I can't because of my hands. DUH! It is currently red, the living room not my hand, which I love but we have had it for about 10 years and I found a pair of pants in a sort of caramel color that I really like. I'm gonna be a little more conservative this time and instead of painting the whole room the one main color caramel I have picked a white(Devine white) for all the walls except one which will be an accent wall and it gets to be the color Mulling Spice. And here is the before view.

Read you soon my dear internets.

Have a great anniversary trip!
I love tans n browns- n all other earthy tones. It makes me feel warm n comfy- especially on clothes n towels. Nice study-

Good luck on the free paint job. The room looks good to me from here already! Never had any red rooms yet. Mostly I go with what I got in cans already, namely warm whites for walls n cold whites for ceilings. Someday I'll get more time n money to play with cartoons on the walls-
The time the kids room was painted navy on the ceiling with glowing stars, light blue on the walls n Carpet green- the landlord flipped out on me! So the girls were allowed to graffetti the whole place, n it was repainted. That was fun-

Actually I'd like to go crazy in here with the airbrush, n sponges, n patterned rollers, but don't have the ambition n time- n will prob get yelled at.

Dang, you've got some stuff going on, Paige!

First, a joyful anniversary to you.Enjoy your celebration.

Prayers for your upcoming surgeries. Let's hope for speedy healing and little pain.

Love your living room. It popped out at me. A very warm and inviting space. It will even cozier with the new color palate.

Brown reminds me of soil, earthworms, centers of sunflowers, pine cones, coffee, cinnamon sticks, tree bark, etc...the list is endless. The color is woven throughout life itself.

(1) Hope you're having a Happy Honeymoon Weekend.

(2) Best wishes for Monday the 12th!

(3) More best wishes ahead of time, for the Nov. elimination of the baby barn.

(4) Wow, a Red Living Room! You guys are totally cool and brave. Love it! But 10 years is plenty, and I understand your wishing for a softer look, by now. Pictures to follow, after your wonderful daughter Erin, completes her work, please.

(5) Speaking of wonderful daughter Erin, could she please give us a couple of updates on you, before you really feel like blogging yourself? Please. Please. Pretty please. Pretty please with sugar on it, Erin.

(6) I'm quite old Erin, and just *know* you don't want to disappoint me, by not giving a couple of updates here. Do you? Nahhhhhh, of course you don't. :-))))

Hugs to you and to Erin!
Aunt Amelia

I hope you're having a super anniversary weekend Paige. Enjoy every moment, and put the worry behind you.

I had a hysterectomy at a young age, (33). I was quite depressed about it, but before, and during my recovery this forum helped me a lot: Maybe it will help you too.

Ironic that you've decided to paint over your red. That's what color my den and office was before the makeover. Now it's a lovely blue with caramel accents throughout. Your red looks much cozier than mine did, that's for sure.

Brown makes me think of squishing my toes in the mud, something I've always loved to do, and am sure I will never grow out of. Love your brown collage.

Keep us posted. My prayers are with you.

Happy travels and happy recovery. I'll miss you!

BTW, I like your study in brown. The first thing that comes to my mind is not a nice one, but alas...
I also think shiny hazelnuts from the husks, worn leather, and my desk.

I also like your current room colors and set-up. Mulling spice... hmmmm... peace, Linda

Boy, a whole lot of cutting in your future there, isn't that? You know I will definitely keep you in thought and prayer that all goes well and heals properly and quickly too.
The new colors planned for your living room sound really great as does your "Honeymoon" weekend! Hope it is a really happy one for you!

I hope the surgery goes well, Paige.

When I think of brown I think of natural growing things and chocolate. Definitely chocolate.

The plans for the room sound great!

I'll be praying for you and your upcoming surgery in November. I'm assuming that your carpal tunnel has already been done by this time.

I love your red living room. My daughter has sort of a red kitchen and it's beautiful. It's not a closed in kitchen and can support the reddish color.
I'm sure that your daughter will have your living room looking great for you.

Oh and Happy Belated Anniversary. Jimmy & I just celebrated ours on Sept. 1st.
