Bing Bong Boo

Ok, so I noticed a dear internet of mine, who will remain nameless as she knows who she is…anywho I noticed how many folks got to her blog by way of the bing.com search engine thingy. So I did just what I said I was gonna do and goggled “how to get binged” My choices were not so great.

So in answer to my google there is no answer. Onward and upward or over to bing.com and see what they have to offer… Pretty much nothing either

But beings how I’m the queen, I mean Queen of this valley I just straight up and binged Paradise Valley 2…Hell’s Mountain and it pulled up a post from January 2008. That’s it, no other listings for moi! And back to google where I at least had 3 listings.

I guess that just means I need to use some really weird phases like why do monkeys eat bananas, or what did dinosaurs do for a good time? You know weird stuff, rocks in your pants and dragonflies under your shirt. Purple paint on your door, oh wait that is so me. Hows about falling on you butt and tumbling head over heels to get a haircut. What about trees growing outta your roof or I have done the impossible or big pointy teeth and stupid things people do to get hits on their blog?

I love you my dear internets for not googling or binging weird crap like that. You don’t do you?

Bing kind of fascinates me. For openers, if you "Bing" the name of my hometown or use Bing instead of google maps, it is amazing the detail that shows on the maps -much more so than google maps. I haven't tried using Bing for anything besides map stuff as yet though but will have to give that a shot too.

Wow! n you do labels too- (I don't)I wonder if it has to do with taglines, n labels. -
I haven't checked my stuff out at all- someday I might get time. Not this week!

Maybe you need folks to link to your posts.

Good luck with picking up more readers without being controvercial!
Bing doesn't know what he's missing...

OK, so I had to go out and test out the two. Bing strikes out on Mad Utopia but Google gives me the first two links. Yeah, Google. So I tried it with quotes, "Mad Utopia." Then Bing gave me links to other people's blogs who have me in their blog roll, but not to my own site. How weird is that? Google just gave me more hits. Yeah, Google, again!

Don't worry Paige, I don't need no stinking search engines. I've got you in my RSS feed. :)

Thank you my dear internets for the great encouragement. Maybe that is why bing.com is doing all that advertising about how they don’t over feed you information like the other guys. I sometimes (usually) like the different choices that I with from the other guys and the information that I sometimes glean. Learning stuff can be fun and offers a verity of food for thought. And the www is good for that especially when you sprinkle a bit of salt on it.

Happy approaching Weekend!

Well Paigey -

A LOT of people end up at Susan's Snippets because of a blog I wrote a long time ago about how disgusting I find it that people spit out "goobers" on the sidewalk....the title of it is "Swallow Don't Spit!"

I am thinking people looking for "other" sites Google it and end up at mine instead...not sure if that is the crowd I am looking to attract over at the Snippets.

Thank you for the positive comments about my dotdotdot.eat.cookies.a.lot! sale success...it is much appreciated. This Saturday I am hoping to make even more money, bills coming due and all.

no more shopping at the mall

Fascinating -- I'd never heard of Bing, so I went to check it out. I Binged my blog and it pulled up some stuff. So I guess I've been binged and didn't even know it! :)

If you want Bing to know all about your blog, the first thing to do is to move A Writer's Edge to the top of your blog list, then visit me and comment more frequently (and you can leave a link to your blog in your comment).

After doing that for, oh, six months or so, visit:

http://www.bing.com/toolbox/webmasters/?FORM=Z9LH1

and do what they say, especially posting a sitemap, an XML file, in your main directory and letting Bing know about it.
