Yummy Ice

Cream that is my dear internets. Yes indeed yummy ice-cream. To be more specific Klondike Choco Taco. Oh my goodness and then some.

Here for your salivating pleasure is my story of discovery of this wonderful treat…

Once upon a time when we went to Big Bend, that’s in Texas, we meandered about the State Park and gazed down upon the Rio Grande. It wasn’t summer, but it was warm and when visiting the lodge store I spied an interesting sounding ice-cream in the freezer. “Humm” says I and then I promptly had my Beloved buy it for moi. Then we drove off as I ate the loverly bit of goodness. The store was closed when we left the next morning so I could not get another one. Drat! And Double DRAT!

I looked and looked and could find no Choco Tacos for my belly pleasure at any of the stores I happened to be in when I thought of those scrumptious tacos…poor ol’ me

Then on our last night in Savannah we (Beloved) was buying some lottery tickets at the little store by the hotel and I went in with him. As usual I ran to the ice-cream chest and I hoped I’d find my Choco Taco and TADAH they had one (yes only 1) Yea! It was as good as I had remembered.

I heard that Wals Marts carried them and so I wrote it on my list and guess what…you are never gonna believe this…but I found them, those wonderful cold tacos at the Wals Marts.

Have y’all had these? If not DON’T cause they are somewhat addicting. See there is the fabulous taco shell (waffle cone shaped like a taco shell) filled with creamy Klondike ice-cream that has chocolate syrup drizzled in it, then the whole thing is dipped in chocolate, nuts sprinkled on top and the top double dipped in chocolate. Oh MY GoodNESS!

So here’s what I need from y’all, my dear most dearest internets…I need your Klondike Choco Taco coupons. e-mail me for my address and they so better not be expired.

That is all and thank you for tuning in, have a nice day.

Send Cupons!

Who wants 69?

Did I get your attention? Yeah, I know my dear internets and I know you are now wondering where oh where is she going with this? I’m wondering too.

Haha not really! I know the point I want to make and it’s really important. Well important enough to practically beg for your attention and those unusual people that Google really strange phrases.

Do y’all see that group of followers in my right hand side bar? Yeah go ahead and take a quick gander. See it says I have 69 followers. Oh I know that’s a lot but the problem I’m having is…well it’s been stuck at sixty-nine for a long time now…and I for one could not help but notice that. Didn’t you? I’m pretty sure some of y’all did, okay maybe some of my more freaky dear internets. It’s okay my mind wanders to the gutter too…every now and again. No it’s not there constantly.

Yes this is a post to try and promote a couple more followers. Hey don’t look at me that way. I can see the face you are making. You too would be begging for at least one more follower…lest you should be known as the www Sixty-Niner.

Come on, help a Queen out. IF you are not following yet, don’t be afraid you don’t really have to read every little post We post (we will not know) Although you may get a kick outta some of our post for we have been told that we make funnies and milk come outta noses. Okay so the milk part is not true, but tears…oh yes that we have caused once twice three times a lady. (we /our is Queen talk for I / Me / My) -haha say that in a sing-songy sort of way and it sounds like a song.

Does too!

Now get outta here, AFTER you sign up to follow, I hear that the NEW YEAR is upon us (maybe already started for you)

And for something else when WAS the last time you mentioned or tweeted one of our post? Yeah I thought so.

One more last thing – please don’t drink and drive I promise the life you save will be someone’s child.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, my dear internets

So What...

Cha doing? Me, just hanging out wondering when the Christmas Elf will come to take down our tree and put away all the decorations (nice & neat). What? The Elf does not come to your house? Well that’s too bad.

I hope y’all didn’t have returns to stand in line over and that everyone was thrilled with the gifts you gave them. Hey there’s always next year if not.

Did any of my dear internets go out shopping for the 75% off sales? I didn’t, most stuff was very picked over before and I have enough wrapping paper to last a few years.

Next year I’m thinking a total handmade Christmas, well if I start now that is…hey it could happen I have 11 months to think about it.

Do y’all have any plans for a New Year celebration? Us, no; cept maybe my Beloved will go marry his 2nd cousin. Hey it’s legal for him to perform the ceremony, being ordained and all. I suppose instead of hanging out I should go find some vows or something for him. Hey I have an Idea (rare I know) you could tell me what vows you spoke / did at your weddings…well if you’re married that is.

So What were they?

Please note that YES I do mean for you to answer all the above questions. See I'm holding my hand out just a waitin for y'all to fill it

Whats Bugging YOU?

So I had this little problem. I was sitting out on the breezeway contemplating some of the world’s most confounding ideas. When all of a sudden a giant wasp decided to have a drink of my coke and it dived in ~ head first no less. Now I don’t drink soda often, it makes my toes look like sausages, so I was a bit put out. What to do? Well being a regular type of frugal person that I am, I fished it out after it drowned. Then continued on with my contemplatingness and drinking of the now watered down coke. Then Bam! WamOH it occurred to me…Crap that dang-ol’ wasp most likely peed in my coke!

Does it look like it to you? Come on my dear internets, has anything like this happened to you and please tell me that you just fished out the drowned bug and drank on without missing a puddle. Please tell me I’m not the only one…

Special Message

I am helping a friend, Deanna, spread the news about a serious and often undiagnosed condition known as Fibromyalgia. Seems like to me the further medicine and treatments advance the more chronic illness’ plague us, don’t you think? Sadly some doctors still think it’s all in our heads. ARGH! When is some really techno geeky genius gonna invent a machine that actually and accurately measures pain? I believe it’s true that some people can tolerate more pain or certain kinds of pain better than others. For instance the age old idea that if men had to squeeze a baby out their wee lil’ man the pro-creation process would come to a screeching halt. Why can a paper cut hurt so badly it brings tears to one’s eyes yet broken ribs are merely uncomfortable? It’s maddening I tell you! I know some of you, my dear, dearest internets suffer from fibromyalgia both diagnosed and undiagnosed.

So many of us on the www have illness and what nots that makes socializing in RL a bit harder than for the average un-pained people out there. The internet has opened a vast data base of information in terms of education, discovery and community. Please check out the web site I have linked to in this post. Don’t be one of the many that continues to suffer with pain without a “cause”

Please be sure to pop over to Deanna's Blog, she has a few post about it and will tell you way more better than I about this issue.

Surprise!

Please be sure to read the stuff below...it's a Surprise about moi!

The Dream
       .according to us

I saw a miniature black horse; its name was Ninety-two
standing before orange elevator doors
they chimed open, Ninety-two winked and leapt inside

I followed, fell into roses red and white and dripping with dew
every scratchless thorn capped with cotton
as 'round the palace the Queen raced on little Ninety-two

I hid behind red velvet curtains, plush and warm as wine,
while the sweat-flecked horse rode on, faster and faster
and the Queen fixed me with her terrible eye

As she put Ninety-two through saddle breaking phases,
Ninety-two strobed, electric
and she was sometimes me and sometimes the Queen

Like a hot tart dropped in haste, Ninety-two’s
chaotic glow took on a heat of
madness - liberating floating in sweet madness!

Equine strength summoned, she galloped full speed
The ground seemed to give way and suddenly
I and not the Queen was airborne, soaring majestically

Tiny toy houses and doll like people fell away
they could not see me above, light as air
Bliss; until a far north wind came and took me

Orange balloons with black eighteen's galloped skyward
like little winged ponies as I emerged,
Birthday Queen, from childhood's fevered dream

I awoke at last, in my damp and familiar bed
Mother smiling, gently wiping my brow
and little Ninety-two safely corralled in my arms

Y’all remember the Daisy Chain Poem (finished poem above) I told you about it over here? Mark has posted about his piece here. Well my dear internets I’m honored to announce that Linda Simoni-Wastila of Left Brain Write, has / or shortly will post an interview of moi. So my dear internets please rush on over there and find out what deep secret questions she may have asked and how they were answered by me. Linda will also be interviewing some {if not all} of the other poets that participated in the chain…Oooo, this is so exciting I can’t wait to find out what I said. Come on let’s go,  I'll wait

{waiting} don’t worry take your time {waiting} I know it may be a little long winded {waiting} But hey I’m so worth it and you are so ultra worth waiting for. No seriously. I mean it.

Okay so now that you are back I have a few questions for y’all:

1. What did you think?

2. Did I sound like a crazy a$$?

3. Were you impressed with any of my answers? And if so Which ones?

4. Did I embarrass myself?

5. Should I refuse any and all future interview requests from now on?

Come on do tell, don’t be shy…I’m waiting

Ooh la la

Because it is my Honeymoon weekend our 7th , I am pre-posting this for you. Now that autumn or fall or just that plan ‘ol little bit of cooling off period has arrived in your area I thought I would post my study of the color brown. Brown and all the shades thereof have their roots in nature the earth (ha ha). What does brown make you think of or better yet what does it make you feel? For me I think muddy shoes and dirty hands from planting vegetables and flowers and even chocolate ice cream dripping off a child’s chin onto their little white shirt, our sweet Mother Earth.

And when we get back from our honeymoon I will be having my left hand carpel tunnel released on Monday the 12th. Give me a few days or less depending on my amount of motion and boredom before I visit y'all. My surgeon better known as the hand dude says my Ulna nerve issue in my right hand/arm may require surgery as well, but that will have to wait even though it hurts bad enough to bring tears to my eyes. My gynecologist says the baby barn (as KimmyK calls it) has got to go, so that surgery is scheduled for mid November. I know I'm gonna wear y'all out asking for kind words to our Father; But you love me and I am the queen of this here valley so please keep me in your prayers, that I will wake up from the anesthesia. Thank you much.

I have asked my daughter Erin, yes her real name, to come over and paint our living room. On accounta I can't because of my hands. DUH! It is currently red, the living room not my hand, which I love but we have had it for about 10 years and I found a pair of pants in a sort of caramel color that I really like. I'm gonna be a little more conservative this time and instead of painting the whole room the one main color caramel I have picked a white(Devine white) for all the walls except one which will be an accent wall and it gets to be the color Mulling Spice. And here is the before view.

Read you soon my dear internets.

This Just In...

UPDATED 4-13-09 ... Brian of The New Author has stopped, suspended, halted all voting in the First Annual Poetry / Short Story Contest. It seems that the poll may have been tampered with and he has therefore acquired anonymous judges to take over in lieu of pier voting for the best Short Story and Poem. The decision is still expected to come in sometime on Friday.

It is sad that even suspecting unscrupulous behavior has marred his first contest. I hope the alleged possibility of tampering turns out to be a mistake. I also hope this will not affect his decision to hold further contests, in what has become a large writing community surrounding The New Author blog that itself has managed to be so helpful to.

My poem ‘If I Were has been selected as a finalist in the New Author Blog’s contest. If you can find a minute PLEASE pop over there and check out the offerings and vote* for your choice. I hope I’m your choice. My piece can be found shown in the April 8 post; and look for the title “If I Were”

{jumping up & down—hands waving in air---pick me pick me}

After reading all the poems and short stories you will be able to cast your vote* by way of a “Poll” Voting begins today April 10 at 3:00 pm. Good luck to all the finalist.

*Voting will last for about a week, so don’t feel like you have to hurry; just make sure you don’t forget about little ol’ me {yes a play on your sympathies}

Thank you Brian and you Dear Internet

Oh one more time cause I like things in sets of three; that is at New Author and the title is If I Were

no it IS about ME

At the suggestion of Dapoppins, in her “About Me” post April 19, I have updated. Although the post was not directed at me personally, I don’t think. I do respect her thoughts and ideas on many subjects, no I don’t worship her. I just like reading what she has to say. And when I popped over to see my stale profile I was shocked at the lack of humor and actual information that it did NOT have about me. So in a, purely selfish, move to have you take a look please click on “view my complete profile” in the right side bar under the heading “About Me…and the Paige that I am”
Than after that if you wouldn’t mind taking the time, I mean if you could possibly, let Dapoppins know that you have just read the most awesome-ish-cool-ish-best-ish profile ever; I would greatly appreciate it, or you can just mention in my comments that you agree, because it is all about ME.

Wanted to let y'all know

I subscribe to a writer’s magazine, Writer’s Digest, and I also receive their newsletters. Maria Schneider posted to The Writer’s Perspective a great list of helpful advise for blogers both new to the blogsphere and those that have been her for a while. On her list this very post of mine is taking the advice of #3 and #8. I will be sure to leave a comment for her as well (#8) telling her that I have linked to her post. Which will of course lead to my comment being read by some of her other commenters, which may lead them here (#19) to my blog to read this (#13). In which case they might comment and say something like… “you didn’t really say anything new in your post at all” or maybe … “ I wasted my time and reading thoughts to come over here for what?” I of course will not reply back because we all can plainly see that my only intent was to provoke them to come and read my blog, perhaps increasing my own readership, that has fallen due to my total lack of regular posting. (#11).
Up until recently I posted only poems and prose and have no doubt shocked some of you by not posting any of late. I suppose I could go into a long drawn out reason but that would only bore you (#14) and taking the advise of Maria I do not want to do that. After all I am only looking out for your best interest in letting you know of the super list she has on her blog. I do recommend (#14) that for best blog content we all should follow her advise. Although I really can’t say when I will be able to do that, see #4 for an explanation.
I don’t know what I want my blog to be about; the direction I want it to go or why I feel compelled to do it (#2). I just do and that’s good enough for me. I pretend that I have this hugh following out there, just hanging on my every comma (#5). I did say pretend {it makes me feel good} and we all have an inner world that we protect and take care of; as it in turn protects and takes care of us (#6). So don’t smack my world and send it spinning zig zag like all across the open universe, cause then I might cry. I want this to be #20 for me (#19) and you!
OOPS~I tried but did not succeed with #10. I suppose that is just #15.
Please comment (#13) if you have any thoughts or would like to add to Maria's list
