International Quilt Festival #1

On November 2 we went to the big quilt show in Houston at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Really it is more than big it is huge. This year we took our youngest daughter with us, she really enjoyed all the artist forms that can be done with fabric and really liked the painted ones and the silhouettes. My favorite are the appliqué. My carpel tunnel issues keep me from doing hand piecing and quilting, which I suppose is the main reason I don’t do much blankie work anymore. Today’s post is gonna be quilt photost. I hope you enjoy because we sure did.

Las Flores by Pat Rollie, Los Angeles California

Global Warming by Nancy Sterett Martin, Owensboro Kentucky

Guadelupe Goes Shopping by Leslie Jenison and Frances Holliday Alford, San Antonio Texas

Flora by Jacquie Harvey West Beckham, Holt, Norfolk U.K.

Beauty from Within by Renae Haddadin Sandy Utah

Woods of Time and Space by Akiko Shiraishi, Narrashino Japan

I took a few more photos but will save them for another time...

Wow, those are amazing! Some of them don't even look like quilts. Learning how to make quilts is one of my 2009 new year's resolutions. I love them. Thanks for the post.
